PORCELAIN FUSED TO ZIRCONIA
Where natural esthetics meet advanced technology.
PFZ
Our Porcelain Fused to Zirconia (PFZ) restorations combine the precision of CAD/CAM-milled zirconia substructures with the artistry of hand-layered ceramic porcelain. As a biocompatible, metal-free alternative to PFMs, PFZ eliminates concerns like black lines and gingival graying — making it ideal for anterior cases that demand lifelike results.
INDICATIONS
- Anterior and Posterior Crowns
- Short and Long Span Bridges
- Implant Crowns
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Less Than 1 mm Clearance - Limited occlusal or interproximal space may compromise strength and esthetics, increasing risk of fracture or unnatural contours.
- Severe, Untreated Bruxism - Excessive forces from grinding/clenching can damage the porcelain layer, even with a strong zirconia substructure.
- History of Repeated PFM Crown Failure - Patients prone to fracturing PFM porcelain may experience similar issues with PFZ restorations.
PREPARATION
- Occlusal reduction - 1.5–2 mm
- Marginal reduction - Minimum 1 mm
- Margin design - Chamfer or shoulder
